Hey Dave
Long day with some interesting learning. There is a lot to learn and get on top of. I think the biggest part of the journey now that the first step has been made is the follow through. Making sure I use the lessons learnt to try little bits often. Also having the confidence to speak up when I do know something ie how to screenshot from HP...I knew when Harry asked!
Working within Google doc's and finding out more of the tools that can make the day/learning easier is a bonus. I am looking forward to doing more within this site. However, I am also mindful that I have a class and life to be immersed in so going to try a little and often and use my students as 'testers' for Miss! There were some tools that I knew about and use regularly. The talk/type is particularly useful and I used with some success for beginning and mid year reports. Perfect! My students did the same with their speeches so it's a function that lends itself well to classroom tasks for ease and something to make the writing for those less inclined more manageable.
Thanks for a laid back intro to the 1st session. I enjoyed it very much.
My efforts so far it's a work in progress!
Hi Rhonda- I like the way you wrote this post as feedback to Dave! A nice touch there.
ReplyDeleteYour feedback on Voice Typing is helpful. Really practical idea to use it for speech writing- that's a no brainer now you say it!
I do hope you now have the confidence to speak up as we learn best when everyone adds their bit.
Dorothy
Hi Rhonda - I like the idea that you talk about using the students as testers of your new learning. They will appreciate that you are "going for it" . The screenshot knowledge would be a great one to share. I can see this blog will be a great place to reflect on the DFI sessions.
